Tuākana Tēina Kaiārahi respects the privacy of tamariki, rangatahi, whānau, kura, agencies and others who engage with our services. We collect and use personal information only where it is needed to respond to referrals, provide support, communicate with those involved and safely deliver our mahi.
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information shared with us and handle it in accordance with our responsibilities under the Privacy Act 2020.

When someone makes a referral or contacts TTK, we may collect information such as names, contact details, kura or agency information, information about the tamaiti or rangatahi being referred, the reason support is being requested and other information relevant to understanding their needs.
We ask that people making referrals only provide information they are authorised to share and that is relevant to the support being requested.

How We Use Information
Information provided to TTK may be used to assess and respond to referrals, plan appropriate support, communicate with whānau, kura, agencies and other people involved, maintain appropriate service records and support the safe delivery of our programmes and mentoring.
Information will not be used for purposes unrelated to the support being provided unless permission has been given or we are required or permitted to do so by law.

TTK takes reasonable steps to keep personal information secure and limit access to people who need it for their role. Information may be stored using secure digital systems and services used by TTK for administration, communication and service delivery.
Personal information is kept only for as long as it is required for the purpose it was collected, or where TTK has a legal or professional obligation to retain it.
